In Remembrance of Those Who Served
Isiah 6:8 -- Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" And I said, "Here I am. Send me!"
May we all take a few moments today to remember those brave Americans who said "Send me," some of whom made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

Upcoming Book Signings and Readings
I'll be attending the Stoker Weekend 2011 at the Long Island Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in New York from 16-19 June. As part of the weekend, I will one of the many authors at the mass book signing that is open to the public from 7:00 to 10:00 on Thursday, 16 June.
On 2-4 September, I'll be attending the Horrorfind Weekend in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. From 5:30 to 6:30 on Friday, 2 September, I have the honor of joining Kim Paffenroth, J.F. Gonzalez, Tim Lebbon, Jason Gehlert, Scott Kenemore, and Jeremy Wagner in a discussion on why the dead won't stay dead and why the literary zombie craze is far from over. From 2:00 to 3:00 on Sunday the 4th I'll be doing a reading from Rotter World.
I hope to see you there.

Two Great Reviews of The Vampire Hunters Series
On Friday the 13th, Peter Schwotzer posted an awesome review of The Vampire Hunters: Vampyrnomicon on The Famous Monsters of Filmland website. In the review, Peter said that Vampyrnomicon is "full of great characters, action, blood, carnage and some of the most evil vampires this side of Brian Lumley’s Necroscope series," which is high praise.
In addition, on Thursday Taliesin Meets the Vampires posted a review of The Vampire Hunters in which they called the book "a refreshing move away from the maudlin vampire" and rated the novel 6.5 out of 10.
Please check out these reviews. Thanks.

Happy Mother's Day
I'm foregoing the Sunday Bunnies today in honor of Mother's Day. However, being the geek that I am, I had to post one of my favorite Mother's Day comics from Brewster Rocket. (Click on the photo to see it larger.)

Osama Bin Laden Is Dead!!!!
I usually stay away from politics on my blog, but this once let me break tradition and congratulate the men and women of the CIA and the Navy Seals for taking out the real horror. Damn good job!!!

Status Update
It's been a busy week. I finished reviewing the proofs for Rotter World. All I have to do now is check a few facts and draft the acknowledgments, and then I send them back to Permuted Press. Now that I've finished reviewing the proofs, I was able to get back to my writing. Today I wrote 1500 words in The Walking Monster.
Also, thank you to everyone who read my interview on Vampires Anonymous. For those who entered the contest, congratulations to Alice Priday for being the first to post that my Cocoa was the inspiration for Drake's pet Van Helsing in the books. April wins a copy of The Vampire Hunters and The Vampire Hunters: Vampyrnomicon. Congratulations also to Danielle Eisner who won a copy of The Vampire Hunters.
